Who are the main characters in the novel? Do you like them? Why or why not? What is special about them? What do they reveal about the universal human experience?
The main characters in this novel were Benjamin, Boxer, Old major, Napoleon, Squealer, Snowball, Mr. Jones, Clover, Mollie and the Dogs. I like all the characters except the Pigs. Most of the other animals were good workers and they always did what the Pigs ordered them to do. They were happy that they were free from Mr. Jones
However, they were promised to be released from working when they got old, but the Pigs didn’t keep their word. The worst example of this was when Boxer, the hardest worker on the farm, got hurt from working and the Pigs sent him to the horse slaughterer, yet lied by telling the other animals that he went to a hospital and that he was fine
I was amazed that the animals obeyed the pig so easily. They never realized that pigs were becoming like human beings, except Benjamin. They believed the Pigs without any suspect. But, the Pigs betrayed the animals. In my opinion, the animals were like people who do labors for higher rank people. The Pigs were the higher rank people.
